Baddy Baddy Ignatz (Krazy Kat) - Ron Campbell
$ 595.00
This Krazy Kat hand signed giclee open edition art-print is called:- “Baddy Baddy Ignatz”
Ron Campbell explains, "George Herriman’s Krazy Kat is indubitably the most creative comic strip ever created, or, like Shakespeare’s plays, likely ever will be created. From this remark you will note the degree of admiration I hold for this extraordinary old-time newspaper strip.
Personally I had the pleasure to animate many cartoon episodes in Australia based on Krazy Kat, Ignatz Mouse and Officer Pup, for King Features of New York. I was in my very early 20’s at the time, working in Australia, and it ultimately led to my directing The Beatles TV cartoons for Al Brodax, the Yellow Submarine producer.
This piece is closely copied from Herriman’s original drawings, showing the classic tossed brick that Krazy believes to be a gesture of love, while Officer Pup sees it as anarchy. Miss Quackwack, ever the nosy one and not sure what her eyes behold, makes inquiries."
