Jimi Hendrix - Baron Wolman
A Rock Art Show exclusive - 16" x 20" of Jimi Hendrix live at the Fillmore West in San Francisco, February 1968 from Rolling Stone Magazine's first chief photographer Baron Wolman. This is perhaps the most iconic shot of Jimi by any photographer. Sadly, Baron passed away in November 2020.
Wolman commented, “That shot of Jimi is one of my all-time favorites, more so that I was on-stage with Jimi. It was taken during his first San Francisco concert in February 1968, two nights at the Fillmore, two nights at Winterland. That particular night (when I made this photo) I got so into shooting Hendrix that I felt like I was playing the camera as he was playing the guitar.... For real.
