This grouping of the mop-top TV Beatles is based on Dezo Hoffmann's photograph that was used to decorate the sleeve of Capitol Records' single release of "I Want To Hold Your Hand." What an explosion of sales! From its release date of December 26, 1963 on, five million copies were sold in the US alone.
In 1984, Capitol Records deleted Paul's cigarette for re-release, but was put back later. As the say, it is what it is, or was what it was.
From the moment, "I Want To Hold Your Hand" was released, American teens decided the Beatles were to be locked inside their hearts for life. And that's what they did.
