What a night in Canandaigua, NY. Beautiful area in the Finger Lakes near Rochester, NY, the skies were threatening all day. The outside show (including the lawn seats) was to be held rain or shine. At 6:30pm, just as the doors opened for the crowd, a massive storm cell popped up right over the venue. The winds tossed our art display over, scratching frames and creating a loud smash that sounded worse than it was. We cleaned up the display, put it back together and had a “Rain” sale, with discounts on the scratched frames. Then, just as Ringo was to take the stage at 8pm, the skies cleared and it was a beautiful moonlit night. I kept thinking what Jeff (Ringo’s drum tech) told me at the beginning of the tour….it rarely rains on the happy Beatle.
