Exclusive Jimi Hendrix Giclée by Baron Wolman

The Rock Art Show has teamed up with legendary rock photographer Baron Wolman (Rolling Stone Magazine’s first chief photographer and one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet) to release limited edition 16” x 20” giclées (pronounced "gee-clay") of three of his classic images. (What's a giclée?) Over the next couple of post we will show you all three images. If you can't wait for the rest of the posts, you can check out this special "Rock Art Show - Baron Wolman" page. For now, check out this Jimi Hendrix giclée. It Rocks!

Jimi Hendrix, Fillmore West, 1968

The Jimi Hendrix black & white giclée is one of Baron's most famous photographs. The iconic image has appeared on the covers of two of his books of photographs as well as the covers of various music magazines. Wolman comments, "That shot of Jimi is one of my all-time favorites. It was taken in February 1968, during Jimi's first San Francisco concert-hall appearances. He played two shows at the Fillmore West, two more at Winterland. I was on-stage the night I made this photo and was so into shooting Hendrix that it almost felt as if I were in the band, playing my camera as he was playing his guitar."

Hello Rock Art lovers!

Hey everyone! My name is Stephanie and I am one of the two people who takes the Rock Art Show on the road. I just wanted to take this time to introduce myself and to tell you how to get yourself into our blog! Occasionally, I will be posting photographs of people who come to the shows either while they are looking at art or with their newly purchased pieces! If you want to be on the blog, just say "hey Steph, post me on the blog" and I will do my best to get you on here.

Now onto business...thanks to everyone who has come out to see us at the 92 KQRS Rock Art Show in Minneapolis/St. Paul area. So far everyone here has been really great--and we are looking forward to coming back to the twin cities. And thank you to mother nature for cooperating--so far, NO SNOW!

Alright, I guess I better get back to work. And remember, the most important day of the year is on TUESDAY (January 24th)...my 23rd birthday!

If you have any questions, comments, concerns, wanna buy something, wanna say hi, etc. etc. etc., please feel free to contact me at any time at... RockArtShow@aol.com. Thanks for reading, and I hope to see you at a show soon!
